Albany 2 - Conference and Move-in

In short:
The conference is over, my suitcase arrived after a full week, I did some gardening, and I found a place to live.

En detail:
I spent the first week in Boston. Vacation? - No, I gave two presentations at the System Dynamics Conference. Additionally I worked as a volunteer. It was a busy time, though much fun. For example, I met people who helped me out with shirts, since my summer luggage had still not arrived. The temperatures of 36°C (97°F) outside but freezing 16°C (61°F) inside.

Back in Albany I first lived with Roberta the coordinator of the conference. She loves gardening. So we fenced apple trees and laid open a creek. As a sport this is at least as good as Capoeira. And it was a lot of fun.

I also went to a baseball game with one of Roberta's colleagues. So far this game had always been a mystery for me, but now I know at least when players run, why, and when not. But don't ask me about the scoring.

This colleague has further friends. This is where I moved on Wednesday. The landlady was a little afraid of me having parties in her house, I guess. Well, she will find out that I'm quite reasonable and that her address will not become an insider's tip for wild parties. (Well, ...) Actually, the landlord Charles comes here for just two days a week. The whole family moved to the grandparent, so I'm taking care of their house.

Well, I'm not quite on my own here. On the first evening, I had an aquaintance with a mouse in the kitchen cabinet - in a mouse trap. At the moment we are looking for its relatives so that they can share its fate.

Yesterday, I went on an adventure trip to Aldi in the next city - by public transportation. Instead of chocolate, bread and jam, I did not find any German products, but it was worth going.
