Albany 1 - Arrival

Nici is travelling, again. And this is my travelogue so far.

The alarm clock rang at 3 in the morning. We left for the airport at 4. This time, the Italians brought me over. The airplane to Milan was cute. Two seats on the right and one on the left of the aisle, that was it. The Alps were magnificent. Woha!

In a bigger plane I went to New York. On the way, I read Paul Watzlawick's "Users instructions for America". It started with: You could go anywhere in the US, but imagine you are sitting in a plane to New York ... The book is great. It is about the driving American, American cities, radio and television, media, ...
Still on the airstrip in NY, the extentions of Europe became visible - it was IKEA in its yellow-bluish shine.

Somewhere between Milan and New York something went wrong. I was one of about 15 who missed half of their luggage. Well, I had one suitcase with winter clothes, liquorice and chocolate and another one with everything else. You can imagine which one was missing. I said goodbye to t-shirts, my washbag and digital camera and now have loads of woolen socks at a temperature of 35°C (95°F).

Roberta the coordinator of the System Dynamics Society picked me up at the bus station and we went fast-shopping. Now I have vanilla-flavored toothpaste, and didn't you all always wanted to know how that tastes?

Now we are going to the System Dynamics Conference in Boston. Press your thumbs for me that my lost suitcase will also make it there and that my presentation will go well.
